Dax Kurbegov, M.D.
Dr. Kurbegov joined Memorial Health System as
Medical Director of Memorial Cancer Medicine Specialists in February 2007.
Dr. Kurbegov is board-certified in medical oncology and hematology. He received his medical
degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX and went on to do
his internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of
Colorado Health Sciences Center, where he was named chief medical
resident. Dr. Kurbegov completed his medical oncology fellowship at the
University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, where he was chief
medical oncology fellow. Dr. Kurbegov has a special interest in breast
cancer and hematologic malignancies. He holds a faculty appointment at
the University of Colorado and has been a champion for a monthly
statewide cancer conference hosted by the University of Colorado Cancer
Center. Dr. Kurbegov is the author of several publications and has
presented nationally.

Robert J. Hoyer, M.D.
Dr. Hoyer joined Memorial Cancer Medicine Specialists in August 2008. He is board-certified in internal medicine, medical oncology and hematology. He received his medical training at Georgetown University School of Medicine. Dr. Hoyer completed his residency at Mayo Graduate School of Medicine, where he went on to do his fellowship training in hematology and oncology. Dr. Hoyer moderates Memorial's Gastrointestinal Cancer Tumor Board, and has an interest in gastrointestinal cancers and lung cancer. He strongly believes in the value of multidisciplinary cancer care, and coordinates comprehensive care among a team of specialists. He practices with Memorial Health System because of Memorial's 'team' approach to care and focus on the entire patient through state-of-the-art cancer treatments, clinical trials, patient education and complementary therapies. He also serves on the Memorial Physician Network Operations Committee. In his free time, Dr. Hoyer enjoys spending time with his family, skiing and biking.

Wendy Oatis, M.D., J.D.
Dr. Oatis is board-certified in internal medicine. She completed her medical training at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine and her internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of Maryland Department of Internal Medicine. She completed her fellowship in hematology and oncology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. In addition, Dr. Oatis has a law degree from Georgetown University Law Center. She worked as a lawyer for many years prior to pursuing her medical degree. Dr. Oatis joined Memorial Cancer Medicine Specialists in September 2010.
