Case Managers Lend a Helping Hand
The case managers at this Colorado Springs diabetes clinic help you manage your health by providing additional education, checking your blood sugar levels, adjusting medication as necessary and helping you navigate next steps if you need treatment. Case managers also help pregnant mothers with gestational diabetes, which occurs in three to six percent of all pregnancies.

Precise Testing Equipment Gives an Accurate Picture of Blood Levels
You can have your blood tested with sophisticated equipment to get an extremely accurate picture of your blood levels. Simply call to set an appointment.
- Hemoglobin A1C test—This test instantaneously shows your overall blood sugar control for the past three or four months, offering an informative look at the bigger picture. Armed with this data, we can investigate reasons why you may experience spikes, for example, and help you improve your quality of life.
- Continuous glucose monitoring—Wear this monitor for 72 hours to record your blood sugar and obtain a wider perspective. With this insight, we can adjust your medication and, perhaps, suggest changes to your diet and exercise regimen.
- Insulin pump—This precision equipment delivers an extremely small unit of insulin to help micromanage blood sugar levels.
To participate in Disease and Wellness Center testing and educational programs, discuss your health situation with your physician and, if necessary, get a referral. Be sure to check with your insurance provider to clarify your coverage.
