Summer Trips to the ER

Some illnesses and injuries happen most frequently during the summer months and call for immediate medical attention in the emergency room. These include:

  • Heat stroke
  • Severe dehydration
  • Concussion
  • Bee-sting allergy
  • Broken bone

If you or someone you know needs immediate medical help, go to your nearest emergency room. Or, if you’re not sure if you need the emergency room, call Memorial's HealthLink nurses at 719-444-CARE (2273).

You Can Help Save a Life

Did you know that by donating just one pint of blood you can save up to three lives! Memorial's Blood Bank offers two convenient locations for blood donation: Briargate Medical Campus, 8890 N. Union (cross section of Union and Charity) and Memorial Hospital Central, 1400 E. Boulder Street.

Persons eligible to donate blood are:

  • At least 17 years old
  • Weigh at least 110 pounds
  • In good health
