Oct. 26: UPS Makes a Special Delivery to the Patients at Memorial Hospital for Children
On Friday Oct. 27 at 12 p.m., the Pediatric Rehabilitation Department at Memorial Hospital for Children accepted a check for $5,000 from the UPS Store, located in the Red Rock Canyon Shopping Center at 3107 W. Colorado Ave. This generous donation through the We Deliver Dreams Foundation gives Memorial the ability to build a climbing wall to be used by patients going through pediatric rehabilitation. This climbing wall will allow children with varying disabilities to participate in a therapeutic yet interactive treatment with their family and peers. This treatment is an excellent way to allow the children the means to participate in an activity outside of their everyday routine. Occupational, physical and speech therapists will now have a new tool to treat the 100 children seen each day. Construction of the climbing wall will begin in the next few weeks.
