Jul 25: New Resource for Cancer Patients
July 25, 2007
There’s new help in the battle with cancer. A new Cancer Resource Center is now open, thanks to a partnership between Memorial Health System Cancer Center and the American Cancer Society. Staffed by American Cancer Society volunteers, patients can now access free up-to-date personalized information, support and resource referrals.
The resource center contains pamphlets, books and on-line computers that can link patients and their families to the most current information available about treatment options and information.
The ribbon cutting officially opening the resource centers was held July 25. You can find the resource center in the lobby of the Memorial Health System Cancer Center building.
Another Cancer Resource Center was also opened July 24 at the Penrose Cancer Center.
Memorial Health System Cancer Center provides comprehensive care that touches the body, mind and spirit. Founded in 1992, the Cancer Center is the only cancer facility in a five state region with TomoTherapy, the most precise radiation treatment available today. It’s also the only cancer center in Colorado recognized for "outstanding achievement" from the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. Staff members offer comprehensive patient centered care by incorporating Integrative Medicine for oncology patients and their families.
