New Chief Operating Officer at Memorial is 15-Year Healthcare Veteran

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Fifteen-year healthcare veteran Colette Martin will be Memorial Hospital’s new Chief Operating Officer, effective immediately. Martin, who grew up in the Pikes Peak region and graduated from Lewis-Palmer High School, will be responsible for leading some of the most important and challenging initiatives for both Memorial and University of Colorado Health (UCHealth).

Prior to becoming COO, Martin served as director of strategic planning at Memorial, where she has led numerous initiatives supporting Memorial’s affiliation with UCHealth.

“We are pleased to announce the selection of Colette for this position following a competitive national search and extensive input from physicians, directors and other senior leaders,” said Memorial Hospital President and CEO Mike Scialdone. “Time and time again, Colette’s bold thinking and tireless initiative have improved the lives of our patients, physicians and employees. She is a leader who challenges all of us, myself included, to never settle for anything less than excellence in everything we do.”

Martin has held leadership posts at Memorial, the University of Colorado School of Medicine, and Providence Health & Services in Anchorage, Alaska. She earned her undergraduate degree in English at Colorado State University and an MBA from University of Colorado.

“As Chief Operating Officer, I look forward to playing a key role in leading and developing the short- and long-term strategic direction of University of Colorado Health and elevating the daily operational performance of Memorial,” said Martin.
