Mar 21: Memorial Star Transport Receives Full Accreditation

The Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS) granted Memorial Health System’s medical transport program, Memorial Star Transport, a full accreditation. This honor was awarded after full review of operating documentation and a site visit that recognized Memorial Star Transport’s successful compliance with nationally established medical transport standards.
Memorial Star Transport modes of travel include helicopter, a critical care ground ambulance, and fixed wing. The medical transport team is based out of Memorial Hospital Central, and is an around the clock operation serving a 150 mile radius. The medical team that makes up Memorial Star Transport consists of specially trained neonatal nurse practitioners, nurses, respiratory therapists and paramedics who operate under the direction of medical control physicians specific to the subspecialty care needs of the patient. The Bell 407 helicopter is equipped with life saving equipment for all adult trauma/medical, high-risk obstetric, pediatric and neonatal patients, and travels at speeds on average of 150 miles per hour.
