Memorial Health System Restricts Visitor Access

For Immediate Release

October 16, 2009

Hospitals across the state are implementing stricter visitor restrictions in an effort to protect patients, visitors and employees from H1N1 and seasonal flu.

In accordance with state health department recommendations, Memorial Health System will restrict access to all areas of the hospitals for the following visitors:

  • Anyone with flu-like symptoms (fever, sore throat, sneezing, coughing, body aches, vomiting or diarrhea)
  • Children age 12 and younger

Beginning Thursday, Oct. 22, Memorial Hospital Central and Memorial Hospital North staff will screen visitors at all entrances.

Please note: These restrictions are for hospital visitors, not people needing care.

For more information about the flu, please call and speak with a nurse at Memorial HealthLink at 719-444-CARE (2273) or go to memorialhealthsystem.com.
