Lois Giles began volunteering at Memorial Hospital eighteen years ago. Since then, she has given an estimated 30-thousand hours helping patients and families in various areas of the Hospital, making her the number one volunteer. The approximate value of her time equals $563,000 given back to the Hospital and the community.

Memorial Health System honored Lois for her dedication and service at a ceremony,  Mon. Aug. 13, at the Information Desk located at the North Entrance to Memorial Hospital Central. Memorial Health System CEO Dick Eitel made a special presentation followed by cake and a small party.

Lois is one of thousands of volunteers who give their time helping at the Information Desk, working at blood drives and giving tours, amongst many other tasks. Lois is 84 years old. Anyone interested in being a volunteer at Memorial Health System can call the Volunteer Office, (719) 365-5298.
