Solucient’s findings are based on eight key measures of clinical quality practices and operation efficiencies. These measures include risk-adjusted medical and surgical patient mortality index, complications index, a core measures score, procedure volume threshold, cost, length of stay and the utilization percentage of internal mammary artery during bypass procedures.
“In recent years, Memorial’s cardiovascular program has moved rapidly to adopt some cutting-edge cardiology technology,” states Donna Lastra, associate administrator of cardiovascular services. “Memorial has been first in Colorado in the areas of endoscopic radial grafts for heart surgery, biventricular pacemakers, cryoablation therapy and a-fib focal ablation programs. We also have enhanced our wide range of diagnostic and interventional services for pediatric and adult patients. Overall, these advancements have resulted in an extensive line of cardiology care that significantly improves patient outcomes.”
