PVD: What You Need to Know!

Peripheral vascular disease (PVD) happens when the arteries that carry blood to the arms and legs become narrowed or clogged, slowing or stopping blood flow.

Common symptoms of PVD:

  • Aching, cramping or pain in the legs when walking or exercising
  • Pain in toes or feet at night
  • Minimize outdoor exposure at dusk and dawn
  • Ulcers and/or wounds that do not heal

What increases your risk?

  • Smoking
  • High blood pressure
  • Diabetes
  • High cholesterol
  • Family history of heart disease
