Our Pediatric Surgeons

Thomas Baesl, MD

Thomas Baesl, MD, has been a pediatric surgeon at Memorial Hospital for Children since 2007. He graduated from SUNY Upstate Medical Center, completed his general surgery residency at the University of Minnesota Hospital and his pediatric surgery fellowship at the Hospital for Sick Children University of Toronto. Dr. Baesl was also a professor of pediatric medicine and pediatric surgery at SUNY Syracuse.

Dr. Baesl is board-certified in surgery, with a certificate of special competency in pediatric surgery. Services include:

• pediatric oncologic surgery
• pediatric thoracic surgery
• surgical procedures
• trauma – traumatic injuries requiring surgical intervention

Rona Norelius, MD

Rona Norelius, MD, is a pediatric surgeon at Memorial Hospital for Children. She graduated from Baylor College of Medicine, completed her general surgery residency at the University of Rochester and her pediatric surgery fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center.

Dr. Norelius is board-eligible for pediatric surgery. Services include:
