Memorial Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
The Neonatal intensive care units (NICU) at Memorial Hospital Central (Level IIIb) and Memorial Hospital North (Level IIIa) provide care to very small, premature and babies born critically ill. Highly specialized care in a warm and welcoming environment encourages parents' involvement during this often difficult time.
Neonatal intensive care units are ranked according to medical and nursing staff availability, services offered and protocols for care. The higher the rating, the greater the ability to care for the most sick and premature newborns.
Our NICUs are part of Memorial Hospital for Children in partnership with The Children's Hospital. Memorial is the only pediatrics facility that provides Level IIIb NICU care in Colorado Springs and southern Colorado with the capacity, required specialists and technologies - all right here in Colorado Springs - to care for extremely low birth weight infants.
