Memorial Health System - Leading the Way to a Healthier Community

Memorial Health System is an award-winning provider of comprehensive health care services for Colorado Springs and southern Colorado. From our modest beginning in 1904 as a small hospital of only 16 beds, we have grown to a 700+ bed health system serving Colorado Springs and southern Colorado communities.

Memorial Health System is owned by the city of Colorado Springs yet requires no tax support to operate. Revenues are invested in leading health care programs and facilities for the community. In addition, Memorial gives more than $70 million to the community each year in uncompensated care, sponsorships of local not-for-profit organizations and free health information.

Memorial Health System is an ACS-verified Level II trauma center and consists of three modern medical facilities - Memorial Hospital Central, Memorial Hospital North and the Memorial Hospital for Children (in partnership with the Children’s Hospital).

Some of our highlighted services include:

  • Our centers of excellence are in cardiovascular care, cancer treatment, emergency/trauma, women’s/maternal services, pediatric care, rehabilitation and imaging
  • The only designated children’s hospital in southern Colorado
  • The only neonatal and pediatric intensive care units (NICU Level IIIb and PICU) in southern Colorado - highest level of critical care for newborns and children of all ages
  • Number one in Colorado and top 5% in the nation for heart care (HealthGrades 2008)
  • Recognized for "outstanding achievement" by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons
